NEW YORK -- Creativity reigns at the annual DIFFA Dining by Design gala, held this year at Pier 92 on Mar.21, 2016. And making a dramatic splash amid a sea of 33 spectacular and whimsical dining rooms created for the charity event was Nourison's 'Underwater Fantasy' set by HGTV Design Star Tyler Wisler.

"When Nourison and I began discussions, I asked them to send me a few of their newest rugs before developing my design concept," Wisler told RugNews.com. "As soon as I saw this rug from the Prismatic collection, I was inspired to design an underwater setting."

The Nourison dining room for DIFFA-Dining by Design features the rug maker's Prismatic collection rug, hand-tufted of high quality wool with shimmering silk-like fibers for accents.

Indeed, the undulating pattern, and blue-green colors of the rug anchor a fantasy scene worthy of Cirque du Soleil as one admirer at the show described it. Wisler created floating fish and sea creatures on draped fabric from sequins, added Von Wong prints and aptly-named Medusa pendants over the dining table to enhance his theme.

Nourison was a Gold Sponsor at DIFFA's 2016 Dining by Design, which with each edition brings together internationally renowned and local talent to create dining installations to raise critical funds for DIFFA's work fighting HIV/AIDS.  Read the full story on Nourison at the Architectural Digest Design Show here.
